Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that touches both children and adults in unique ways. While it’s often linked to restlessness, impulsivity, or difficulty focusing, ADHD is much more than a lack of attention. It reflects differences in how the brain regulates key messengers like dopamine and norepinephrine, which influence motivation, concentration, and emotional balance.
For many people, living with ADHD can feel like the mind is always switched “on.” This can make it harder to filter out distractions, manage time, or complete tasks. At the same time, ADHD is not only about challenges—it also brings remarkable strengths. Creativity, energy, and the ability to think outside the box are common gifts that shine through in those with ADHD.
I take a whole-person approach to supporting ADHD, looking beyond symptoms to understand the root causes that may affect focus, mood, and energy. Nutrition plays an important role—balancing blood sugar, addressing nutrient deficiencies, and supporting amino acids can help the brain work more smoothly. Supporting the gut–brain axis is central, as healthy digestion and microbiome balance are closely linked to emotional wellbeing and mental clarity. Lifestyle changes such as improving sleep, reducing inflammation, and calming the nervous system bring additional support. Herbal medicine, mindfulness practices, and individualized care create a balanced plan tailored to each person. With this holistic approach, ADHD can feel less overwhelming and more like a strength to be embraced.
